Safety of Students and Educators
All educational staff undergo a background check to ensure member safety.
For ensembles open to all ages:
The majority of participants will be legally considered adults, so minors will need explicit parental consent to participate. Education staff and leadership will ensure that participants under 18 years of age will not have 1-on-1 interaction with any adult participant, and will conduct safety trainings for the ensemble to ensure the safety of everyone. These ensembles will follow the guidelines and requirements of any housing/rehearsal sites and of any competitive organizations they are a part of. All instructional staff will be considered mandatory reporters, meaning they are expected to report anything that a public school mandatory reporter would be expected to report under state and federal law to fulfill their duty to protect the safety of minor-aged humans.
For ensembles with age caps of 21 or below:
Anyone over the age of 18 that is involved with any student-focussed education (in any role that directly interacts with students directly as a mentor or participant) will also be required to complete a criminal background check. All members 16+ involved in the in the student-focussed educational ensembles as either a participant or mentor will complete a member safety training. All instructional staff will be considered mandatory reporters, meaning they are expected to report anything that a public school mandatory reporter would be expected to report under state and federal law to fulfill their duty to protect the safety of minor-aged humans.
All ensembles:
All members, volunteers, and staff of all ensembles, regardless of age, will be required to sign a code-of-conduct agreement, which includes many topics ranging from rehearsal educate to safe behaviors. Failure to follow this code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including expulsion, contract termination, and/or legal action as is necessary based on the severity of the incident.
Be Part of Something New
Ambitious Performing Arts is a newly founded nonprofit (August of 2026), so we are the newcomer in the performing arts world. But that doesn't mean we're inexperienced: all of our educational and creative team members have extensive professional experience in their field. Similarly, AmbitiousPA's founder and director is Ryan Kilgroe, a composer/educator who is building his career on creating new (and sometimes seemingly random) opportunities just like this one. The only thing that sets this organization apart is that it's our most ambitious endeavor yet.
Volunteer, Contribute, or Sponsor Us
Ambitious PA is currently seeking volunteers to join our education team! We will also accept fundraising contributions, sponsorships, donations, or volunteers in other capacities. Check out our support page to learn more on how you can give back to AmbitiousPA!
